A short interview with 2 representatives of TimBox at Start-up Alley held by Jordan Cook  of TechCrunch TV. The reporter was pretty excited with the only application from Vietnam presenting at this big event.

During 2 days of Start-up Battlefield with 290 companies, TechCrunch TV continuously updated news about products that the audience paid attention to. TimBox was one of them.

According to the latest information that we received from Mr Thao, the only one TimBox member at this event, the visitors were introduced and invited to try the product proved to be very exciting and interesting.

Mr Thao and his brother

Through the talk and hands-on, they feel interesting and surprising with a product of Vietnam at the conference this year. Some experts also want to explore new things in the Vietnamese market. Mr Thao also said, “It can be said that they highly appreciated the features in our TimBox”.

Here are the latest pictures that Mr Thao sent back from San Francisco

TimBox and Telesocial

TimBox and Skype

Besides expressing the interest with TimBox, a giant name in the industry also expressed its desire to discover and to look for an opportunity to cooperate with TimBox. Which may include, Kevin Hague, Director of Tools and Technology at Nokia, he expressed his wish to cooperate developing TimBox on Windows Phone platform, or Roland Pan, Strategic Director of Skype, wanted to developTimBox in Southeast Asian markets…

These good news is giving us more energy to bring the best product to people. At present, we only have an utmost desire to bring a complete and fabulous TimBox to those who are waiting and believing us.

From the date of notification to attend the TechCrunch Disrupt, our entire team put best effort to prepare all things necessary for this event.

TechCrunch Disrupt is a major technology event which is held annually by the leading technology magazine TechCrunch. In this conference, new potential ideas of startup companies will be shown and supported. Guests attended the events of this famous technology magazine are mostly well-known names and all have the influence in the technology world, such as founders, venture capitalists as well as representatives of renowned enterprises in the Silicon Valley.

Big chance, also big challenge for TimBox!

Assess the importance of this event for the future of TimBox, management board immediately setup a meeting to plan for all the necessary elements.

The first stage and also the most important step to prepare is the product, if we want to impress the strict and intellectual experts in this conference, we must have a real breakthrough product. TimBox technical team volunteered to work extra hours to catch up as well as have time to check the quality of the product. So the series of day “code through the night” of TimBox team started. Our leader bought more food and energy drinks for the entire team to get good health for each “fighting” night.

So nice :x It took timesssss to make, thanks to our designer Cò Lả

The other members of the team have to prepare the communication channel between manufacturer and clients who are interested in TimBox, such as websites, blogs, twitter, fanpage, etc. A good product should have a completely adequate look, otherwise it is just a empty gift box.

The 3rd important element that the team must prepare is the tool to promote the product at TechCrunch Disrupt, such as product introduction slide, video, posters, leaflets and all other small things.

This step seems to be simple but it took us quite a time. For example, in printing process, the unique and strange color of TimBox is difficult to print exactly the same with the standard design. Then, how to build a video to introduce TimBox with main funny characters in the product? All of us have to plan, discuss and work together to solve many difficult problems.

Throughout 2 weeks of effort, skipping the weekends and holidays, we have prepared the best “weapons” to ready for a long trip to San Francisco. Sometimes, because of stress due to pressure of time urgency, we have debated fiercely, but after all, we understood that all are on the same boat, heading towards the goal of success. The result is still unknown, but with all our efforts, we don’t stop believing that TimBox will make a special hit at TechCrunch Disrupt this year.

On the afternoon of Thursday, Sep 06th, TimBox – the love child of CNC Mobile was officially on the way to San Francisco, USA to join TechCrunch Disrupt – one of the most anticipated technology conferences of the year. Some famous entrepreneurs in the IT world also attended, such as Bill Campbell (Intuit), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Kevin Rose (Google Ventures)…

Startup Alley is the first challenge of TimBox in a faraway land. The target that we aim is the vote from TechCrunch Disrupt’s audiences, with the intention that we will have a chance to present our product on Startup Battlefield round.

StartUp Alley is the place for startup companies like CNC Mobile to introduce TimBox in front of guests. There will be 5 of the 100 most selected enterprises in this round have the opportunity to introduce products on TC Disrupt stage. In StartUp Battlefield, the product which has the most votes of the participants will be the winner, receive $50,000, and especially, they will get the exposure and opportunity to receive investment from venture investors, large technology companies presented at the show.

The only one but very important man of TimBox – Mr Thao Minh Nguyen will present at the conference. Before his departure, all of us wished him best of luck and put all our faith in him and our “love child”.

When talking about TimBox, he shared with the entire team, “Silicon Valley is being covered too strong by the glory of the big names, ideas are fraying and innovation is limited. Therefore, creativity, new ideas and values will have to come from the new land” - CEO TimBox - Thao.M.Nguyen said.

Belief and the strong will of our young leader have energized our entire team with confidence. From far away we always believe that with TimBox, he will make a miracle.

Let’s wait for good news from Silicon Valley!

“How to make a sexy girl want to talk to you?” Actually it’s very simple! In nature, every male bird wants to show off their beautiful feathers, dance and sing ostentatiously to attract female ones. It’s the same in human world, if you want to attract somebody, spread out the signals!

If you are looking for a girl to ask out, just use “Twist & Shout”and then you can see near-around girls on Map. First, make her impressed with your good looking appearance, change your avatar now! Alluring her!

Ok, you have a good look. Now, “attack” her with all your kindness and compassion! Let’s give her a signal of love! Besides her when she needs you.

At the same time, there are 2 people in a close distance, with 2 adequate “twist”. What chance could be better than this?

You have so many chances to talk and renew your life. Just tell us who you are and what you need, Twist & Shout will serve you all!!

Would you believe if I say I found the idea of a gameplay after the “Boom!” of champagne in a party? Maybe you think I’m crazy and insane. Actually it’s not! With TimBox, just hold your smartphone then shake it like you shake the champagne, you will be surprised!

In the party, you yourself need to find someone to talk to. In TimBox, I will introduce you a partner that she or he is also searching for you, does it sound great???!!!

Exactly! “Shake it” gives you the information of anyone who’s shaking smartphone at a time or moment with you. . It happens randomly because both of you want to make conversation and find out each other.   We simply make it happen faster and let you know why both of you by chance can talk.

Shake it up, we can dance, we can talk, we can have fun! Love is in the air!!!

I believe, with this feature, all people will get closer and have more chance to talk. The “Shake it” party has just begun.  Come on, all party girls and guys, join us and have fun!!!!!

In the past, we could not imagine how TimBox would be because the current concept was generated by the series of continuous changes. Even, it is now completely different from its old brother TimTalk.

Predecessor version named TimTalk, which includes free chat service to attract users and interaction wall to keep them stay, aims at Vietnam market only.  During the process of brainstorming and discussion, we figured out that was a bad idea. TimTalk just built up discrete features and tried to attract users and hoped that everybody would like it. Nonetheless, looking on Chat feature, TimTalk cannot compete with Whatsapp, Viber; for interaction wall, nobody uses it because they already had Facebook. Because of that, TimTalk really made no sense. It was a failure!

At that time, TimTalk was nearly done ; if we changed, we would waste all the effort that we made. But we all came to conclusion: “It’s worthless to build a bullshit thing! Making a better product does not mean redoing? The thing that we are ready to fight for and devote everything should not be a mess of some picked-up features from here and there, it must be a part of mankind’s daily life that users love to use it by themselves.

However, if we changed and redid  it all over, we were under the risk of missing deadline and uncompleted product for the event TechCrunch Disrupt on Sep 10th, 2012. Everything needed to be reconsidered in details. So what should we do, change or not?

Finally, we all came to a choice: abandoning the old concept and build a new one.  Every team member worked days and nights to catch up with deadline!!! What crazy guys!

We decided to create something different.
